Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email messages are retained as needed to prepare a response. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers automatically receive basic technical information:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Visitors may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how parts of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Dickson County Court Docket neither maintains nor sells a collection of court dockets or personal case data. Its role is to direct readers to Tennessee courts, official case systems, and the proper local clerks. Access to official Tennessee judicial records is governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34; Dickson County's public-records policy also cites Tenn. Code Ann. § 10-7-503(g). Neither authority turns this private website into a court-record custodian. We do not turn visitor information into consumer reports or third-party record files, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies supply the search tools. Information submitted there is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Because each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, visitors should review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court clerks, trial-court portals, Tennessee case-search services, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use activity across multiple websites to select targeted ads. That processing occurs within their systems, which we do not operate.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to these limited recipients:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-based system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, it will be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on the circumstances, Tennessee law may grant privacy rights, including under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. § 47-18-101 et seq. Visitors may also make the following requests:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any replacement will be posted here and will carry a new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
